If steel threaded inserts have come of the head. Use a helicoil. Google it, but basically drill a slghtly bigger hole tap a new bigger thread in and put a new threaded insert in with the outer dia ofthe tapped hole and the inner of the original insert

Can't do it with the head on the car. Openin up holes means drilling meaning swarth fallin inside the engine.

What size are the studs M8?
I have an M6 helicoil set here bud if it's right size.
Not too hard to do either.

Why not? just cover up the exhaust ports well.

M8's.
Is there room for a helicoil? ie is there enough metal around the fucked holes for a bigger hole?

Think they'll be M8 mate.
Helicoil kits are about £15-25 and fairly simple to do.
With the manifold off is there enough room to fit a drill in between the slam panel and head? Might be worth removing the rad for access.

Cant you just tap it out to 8mm then use 8mm studs? Helicoils are shit, they always break. Wurth do some good things called time serts which do the job of a helicol without the faffing about.

How exactly would you weld steel to an aluminum head
