yep or you can use maxsport ones too, which are a Tarmac rally tyre.
Hankook rs2 for a compromise between road and track.

Camskill for the 888's or yoko's or hankook. tweeks for the max sports.

im told that though the r888s are great on track , they can be quite poor in wet weather on the road ?

And theyre not cheap at £405

theyre poor in wet, dont get much tread, dont last long but when they do theyre great. i actually prefer the yoko a048r's over the toyo's.

I find them better than f1's in damp-wet conditions, but in wet- standing water conditions yes they are crap.
But what do you expect when they have the minimum amount of tread allowed for the road to make them legal.

Yeah I see what your saying. I think I need to find a decent compromise between road and track. Would proxes fit the bill , or am I looking for something better ?

Yoko's are better than the 888's but they cost alot more. I ha ve used my 888's on 8 track days so far, the rears look like they are only just scrubbed in, the fronts look like they have about 4 left in them before they become illegal on the road but they will still be fine on tarck.

Is your car just a weekend toy or an everday car ? Mine is just a toy to be honest but I still need to be able to drive on the road

For a compromise I would suggest hankook rs2's, I know a few lads on png who have used them and guy a few years ago would had them on his track/everyday vectra and they have all said good things about them.

Please steer clear of proxes they are shite.

mine gets used all the time. my advice on things like this if its not just a toy car, get some spare wheels.

Yes your right nic, I have a set with f1's and set with 888,s.

At least that way you have the best of both worlds to suit all occasions and weather. Particulary in this country where a dry day cannot always be had.

Think I'm gonna get some Paradas. Can't find any in 195/40/17 on Camskills though. I was gonna get T1-R's again but they won't get them in stock again for a few weeks so gonna try for something different

the p zero neros or yokohamas are the most tempting at the moment. I dont really have a budget to stretch to r888s, though it would be good. But if I find that I am to do more track days then I will get some more expensive tyres
