set your mind on getting one car, but end up looking at loads of others thinking that they might/could be a better choice?
I set my mind on a Mk4 Ibiza TDi PD130, with intentions of going stage 3 hybrid (circa 230bhp, 380lb/ft) and doing the full works, hopefully building something which could win awards.
But I noticed Seat Arosa's are pretty cheap, but they only have the 1.4 16v engine (100bhp), which could get 140ish bhp maybe with full zorst, cams, mapped to suit. and near on 200bhp with a charger. It would be very handling focused.
The advantage is the arosa's are around 2k for a good one, where as Im looking at 4k for a good Ibiza
I dunno what to do now

I want an MR2 turbo just now just because you can get a good one for £3000 and they do 0-60 in sub 6 seconds, 240bhp odd out the box for rev 3+.
But then I will miss the bmws engine noise, smoothness, quietness, rattle freeness.

Ibiza would have lots done to it though, fully poly bushed, coilovers (good ones), rear spacers, front and rear arb's, LSD, maybe adjustable front topmounts too
Im driving one with near enough all that done around cadwell next month, so I will be able to make my mind up on the handling potential

Not too much point of dropping the lupo gti engine in, near enough the same blocks only 20bhp and 200cc difference (bit like 14xe/16xe)

if you fit a uprated front arb it is detrimental to the handling on a fwd car, just the rear is what you need, get a golf or a lupo gti imo, or if its an ibiza get the cupra

I'm really stuck betwen an Elise S2, a LR Discovery 3 and a RR Sport for my next car, they couldn't be any mroe different to one another; the RR is out of my price range a bit but not hugely; but the more I look/test drive LR Disco3 and the Elise S2; the more I can't make up my mind so I've started to look at 350Z, old shape Jaguar XK, Z4s and everything in between and still can't decide

I would have a Leon over a Mk4-6 golf but I don't want a bigger car. Cupra will be a waste of money as I prefer the facelift bumper over the cupra, insurance is higher and more expensive to buy
