Can you still buy red rub strips new from vauxhall?
Anyone know how much they are if you can?

They have adhesive on already, you just peel the backing off.
Make sure you find a picture of the car with them as standard so you get the height correct and pay attention to which side you're using, the slanted cut should follow the cut in the door. You'll see what I mean when you hold them both up to the car.
Also make sure the door gap is close enough. Start from the door edge on both sections when sticking them on.
And make sure you get the right length. Earlier SRis were cut for the badge to fit, later ones have the stripe the length of the door and the badge on top.
If you're not putting a model badge on the door you need the full length ones.

Thanks for that, will be ok lining them up I think as the paint has faded perfectly under the rubstrips the the previous owner removed so should be able line them up easily enough (I hope).

Early car.
Can't find a picture of a later one but you need the later stripe without the badge.

Put some electrical tape along the car above and below where you want the stripe to sit, take it right the way to the back of the car up to the arch so you have a complete line down the car to follow.
