I'm ordering some tyres from camskill i'm just wondering if most people get garages to fit them? If so how much do they charge?
I'm just asking as if it's abit then i might aswell and just get the tyres from from the garage too.
Cheers

of course you get garages to fit them. you're not going to fit them yourself are you?
it's not usually that much more to get tye fitting and balancing done at the same place you buy the tyres from.

thing is, if your not buying the tyres from them they will want more cash than if you were as theyre making less out of the job. places that fit tyres generally dont like people that bring their own in.

Yeah at our work we would charge more. It's much easier and will be cheaper getting them, fitting them and getting them balanced at the same place. Much less of a ball ache too.

Why don't you buy tyres from e-tyres, they'll come to your house and fit them for you. Or, order them from one of those tyre discount websites like Black Circles as they include fitting at a local garage.

not really. youve bought something elsewhere and want it fitted as cheap as stuff that a company could have supplied you. you are robbing them out of a sale, and then expect the same price for fitting and balancing that they offer when they make a sale.
you cant complain.

Yep, it's not like they make money on the fitting of tyres. It's the retail that keeps them in business.

But still £60 just to fit tires.
I have fitted tyres using the machine and just with a metal bar, easy but boring and not worth paying £15 imo.
They kwik fit cheapest was £200 for 4 195/50/15 so ebayed it and got yoko a539 £112 posted £20 fitting and balancing £132 !
They are just rip off merchants.
Find a little back street garage and get them fitted.

but your not looking at it properly. wages, cost of electricty and running compressor, cost of the wheel weight and the valve and the time involved. and then to add to that, a customer brings their own tyres to be fitted, means the garage make even less from what is already a non profit job, thats why places charge more.
you, the customer bringing in your own tyres are the rip off merchants in the eyes of the garage. trust me on this. its not something that goes down well.
