New shells are about £1800, although apparently the Corsa B shells are very hard to get hold of these days. Mine was LHD and with a sun roof. They had to swap the bulkhead for a RHD one and fit a new roof-skin - apparently the sun roof- skins are not nearly as rigid as plain roof skins.

Ian - I'm getting Pro-Tech or possibly BAT to help get the tracking set up once it's built, so when I'm down your way, I'll let you know..

shouldn't be Adam - they put the new roof skin on mine only after the cage was in. And you'll have more clearance with a plain roof skin, not less.

Andy,

How much work has gone into the shell now? I know its been seem welded and stuff but how much of the brackets have you had removed? You said the shell cost £1800 but how much would they charge to do all the stripping, welding, removing of unecessary brackets and respraying the inside?

I like what he has done to the shell. Personally vibs I agree and I wouldn't get a rollcage, just added weight.

Unless you decide to roll your car or crash into a telegraph pole which lands across your car.

A roll cage would help then.

Vibrio,

I was going to select a typical cheap plastic bucket, but when I saw the glass ice bucket, I just had to have that.

Hi Patrick! - the shell didn't cost me anything. Everyday I give thanks to Norwich Union for insuring the guy who ran into the back of me

Basically, I'm paying MLP to do extra work above and beyong the insurance payout for the rebuild. For respraying the inside and removing the bracketry, there's not much extra cost, because the shell is already stripped down, making jobs like that pretty simple. Of course, it would have been a different story if I had to start with standard car and strip it all down.
