Well I've bought my first worthwhile mod for the civic and am really pleased despite the cost

Scoop

Gruppe M

Bought 2nd hand for *cough* £400 *cough* yes I know you're thinking wtf all that for a 2nd hand air filter... but the noise it makes when tec kicks in is unreal!

How the civic is looking now...

Not sure on what to get next... am thinking along the lines of lowering 30ml... cat-back / remap that should keep me happy for a while

Comments and opinions welcome!

Ash

Really!?

How much for the engine mate?

The Gruppe M's Strength is also it's weakness

- It sounds lush when you hit vtec but that means I want to hit vtec everywhere = revving loads = higher speeds = shite fuel consumption!!!

I guess this is the same for most induction kits though...

If your gonna do something, do it right!!!

Quality bit of kit!!! I had something similar on my old JCW mini and it was the only filter Ive had that made a noticeable difference!!

circa £800+ new depending on exchange rates

Also good to see you did the sensible thing and modded your scuttle rather then using the tacky one provided

£400 PMSL the ECUTEK map for my scooby is only gonna be £500 and that will give me an extra 50/60 brake not to mention extra torque and MPG.

I was going to get a GruupeM for my old BMW Coupe but ended up getting a Simota for £150 and was just as good IMO.Agree with extra fuel consumption though i just booted it everywere just to hear the noise!

Problem with the one you have is that it will get alot of heat soak etc as its just an open cone filter.

The gruppe m are a proven gain.

Price difference yes there is a massive one but its a case of you get what you pay for.

Cheaper option for good power would be the long arm version of your one that sits behind the bumper and eliminates the heat problem

He's got the Typhoon,

The problem with the long arm filters is that they get soaking wet because of there location...

The problem with the short arm filters is the heat soak

The gruppe m is the best but it costs loads!

I made my decision...
