Sprayed my bumpers and arches satin black and it looks great really please with it but its started to crack/chip etc, im thinking of taking it to a bodyshop so how much roughly would this be in satin black? and also how much in glacier white?

The ABS plastic needs to be preped properly using special primers.

When i asked for a quote to spray my bump strips the guy said it oculdnt be done as the plastic is always leaking solvents?

My brother told me i had to use some sdort of thinners before spraying because i had to get all the grease out like bumper care and that crap, I didnt and its cracked

I had loads of trouble when doing my arches years ago as they kept bubbling

In the ned I purchased new arches - it was something to do with solvents used by either mysekf or the previous owner to try and keep them black

He's telling the truth.. The plastic is shit.

You need to use a special primer, its nasty stuff.. normal plastic primers work to some extent but it never keys properly.

The stuff I use is clear, you clean the surface, key it up with some coarse paper, spray it with a light coat, let it dry then apply a coat of high build primer.. The plastic primer keys the ABS so the high build can bond to it.

vegas phil had trouble with his. think he said using autoglym bumper care and other products like it cause ''fish eyes'' when spraying them up.

i just got a quote for £350 to smooth the bumpers and arches on my corsa and do them antherite to match my wheels
