Does anyone rent a seedbox?
Im looking to as my upload is shite and I want to stay part of the private trackers without continual donations.

Can anyone recommend any reasonable seedboxes? Ideally less than £20 a month.

Do you get enough benefit from the private trackers to pay to keep your upload.

You might as well just go and buy dvd's instead.

Where do you get Rapidshare stuff from?

The only rapidshare stuff i;ve ever been shown has been shit cam quality crap, whereas all the private trackers i belong to are HD stuff.

@John, one HD DVD is going to be atleast £15 for a new film, I average many films a week.

all my HD/BR, HD TV, FLAC and 96k Audio(something which i've yet seen on torrents) are from Rapidshare. Only difference between rapidshare and torrents is that i can max out my connection day in day out, unlike torrents where they trickle down.

And yes, you get the same releases as you do on torrents, with tv series being put up within an hour two of showing

Warez-BB is probably the best place for warez on all hosts tbh.

You won't get a box worth buying for £20 a month, most boxes charge setup fees and shit as well. I asked a re-seller for OVH and the cheapest 100mbit box he could get me was £33 a month, 500GB drive and 'unlimited' internal bandwidth (you'll find a lot of people are on OVH) and 3TB normal bandwidth.

IMO if you're downloading a shit load, the best thing to do is get a usenet service (Astraweb / NewsDemon) then use your torrent account for the stuff you can't get (or the free leech stuff, to build a nice buffer).

Rapidshare is good, but you only get a certain amount of bandwidth, though if you download from 12am-8am (I think it's these hours) it'll only use 10% of your allocated bandwidth.

EDIT: Keep an eye on http://www.rlslog.net (don't forget to check out the comments).

Do you use the free user or pay for premium?

Doesn't seem any quicker than torrents, probably slower actually

Can someone PM me a link to a good rapidshare site then? I dont want to be trawling through dodgy warez sites getting malware from all over the place.

I'd stick with a dedi box tbh, a bit more expensive but these look a lot more promising;

@John, one HD DVD is going to be atleast £15 for a new film, I average many films a week.

I started with torrents but stopped a few years back, then went with Newzbin but it became exspesnive as i was paying £15 a month to keep it running.

I now use rapidshare and upload a bit gaining me points and extenstiopns to my rapid share keeping the cost down.

Sites i use mainly are tehparadox, HD-BB.org, mhd-hdhieu.com
If your looking for a film just search google - blaablaa x264 rapidshare (can add mhd or m720p)

The site i use most is Hd-BB.org find it the best for TV shows and m720 films and go on the encoders group all the films work fine with my popcorn hour. The site is currently invite only but i have a few invite remaining if you want one

I run a seedbox, three of us are on it. Got about 1.5tb of space, unlimited bandwidth and a nice FreeBSD box.

Some of my ratios

Ratio: 3.711 Uploaded: 700.71 GB Downloaded: 188.83 GB

Uploaded 1.24 TB (1.79 GB per day)
Downloaded 121.34 GB (175.75 MB per day)
Share Ratio 10.450

Another one which isnt good because its music and not just scene releases

Ratio 1.76
Download 46.65 GB
Upload 82.29 GB

Use proper torrent sites (read: private) and you'll exceed any bandwidth that rapidshare can dish out, i regulary get line speed on my box.

Some ISPS are actively looking for torrent users and will demand you stop, with a seedbox I'm getting all my data back to another location then using encrypted transport methods to get it back to me (scp).

Some people dont want to seed from their home boxes and lag their connections to fuck so they cant stream music, surf pages faster or game, I dont have that problem because my box with a 100mb connection to the Internet is doing all the seeding for me, plus I cant seed on average at around 5mb/s from home

I don't seed anything

ISP's chasing you down is a concern, not one I'm worried about yet, that's a reason I can see the point of if it's ever mega cracked down on.

Atm though, just change to a better ISP.

I had a couple boxes until about 6 months ago;

Ratio: 6.451 Uploaded: 2.04 TB Downloaded: 323.25 GB
Ratio: 25.662 Uploaded: 39.21 TB Downloaded: 1.53 TB Slots: Unlimited slots

As I mentioned, if you can't afford a decent box, rapidshare + usenet is a much better combination.
