Right, can anyone tell me why some plates have to be auctioned?
I quite fancy the plate SH51 ELL. However, neither this plate or any variant (i.e 51, 02, 07) etc, all new style, are available to buy, all will apparently soon be available at auction. Also, anyone got a rough idea how much it's likely to cost? Thanks!

Really depends who's bidding it could make a small fortune could go for peanuts.
Will be lots of resellers looking to buy it I would say.
Work are going to one, possibly just been last few days to go and get one for the company.

If its direct off the DVLA then they publish the dates on the web site. I don't think its possible to tell how long you're going to wait for it to go there though.

Just checked the plate work were looking at and its gone so auction must have been last week.
This has been advertised as going to auction for about 3-4 months.
They do put the date and venue up well in advance of it going to auction though.
Wonder what ST08ART went for in the end.
