I never liked them seeing them on pictures but up close they are really nice, would prefer the newer shape/facelift clio to that though, although I'd never own one as new cars do nothing for me.

pcp is good if you can afford the repayments. if you're stupid with your money and you don't earn all that much it's not worth it.

It's what you want from a car really, i love them, but then i love revvy cars that handle well. Some people just like car's that have oodles of torque and arent very exciting and 9 times out of 10 the people that don't like the Clios, CTRs etc are people that now own torquey cars instead

yes this is true... probably why i dont rate the clio 192. i like torque and easy swift driving with little effort and not revving the tits out of my car. Saying that i do miss my old 2.0 red top corsa.

So you don't like nice shiny things then?
Weird comment IMHO.

I prefer old skool too when I had my 182, even though they weren't Renaultsport's I hated seeing 20x other silver Clios every day.

How is it weird, because I have a different opinion on cars to you?
And no, I don't like new cars. Too much plastic, driving aids (and not the good type) and most of them are boring to drive. For example, I'd rather have an Escort Cosworth than a new Focus RS, my 106 over a GTI, an Fiesta RS turbo over a Fiesta ST. Although some of them cars are totally different, that's just a few examples of the way I prefer my cars.

I disagree with you on each of those cars mentioned.

good job we all don't like the same things then. Old cars have more character. Another example, look under the bonnet of an EsCos then look under the bonnet of a new Focus RS. The Focus id just a sea of plastic hiding what really matters.

That is exactly where we differ...I don't care what a cars engine looks like.
Some old cars do have more character but the cars you listed are essentially the same looking as the lesser models of the time but with added cosmetic bits. Same as todays cars.

bloody hell people have opnions, tbh i totally agree with dannyb though...old skool all the way! simply compaired to new motors, do the work ureself and wayyy wayyy better drives from my experience. Depends wot really matters in a car to u...for me its the feeling to get when u drive it

new cars ftw.
But im with you with the Escoss.
Charecter is something they must have had from the start, which means they had it when new. So in essence they where a new car and they had it. So im unsure how thats a tangeble thing to say.
With the regard to driving aids. Thats rubbish. I have been round a track and through varios stunt lanes in a c63 amg and the esp is astonishing! Slam on the brakes and steer through a chicane at 80mph? No problem.
I hear you with the styling with some of them, but if you really study them they are quite different.
