Dav - out of interest what prep went into painting the underside? obviously you've removed the tank and stuff, but did you use a pressure washer to get all the dirty off? what method did you use? what did you use to paint the underside? Cheers.

I cleaned all the shite off by washing it all down at first, then white spirit and petrol.

Then I wired brushed it all, got any loose bits of underseal off and dealt with and rust with a grinder, etc.

Any bare metal behind heat shields and stuff was stoneguarded and left for 24 hours then painted with 2/3 coats of hammerite brush on then a light coat with hammerite spray. I used hammerite smooth.

Basically done what I saw off the S1 RST website.

For the heat shields, they were primed up and painted in High temp paint that we had knocking about.

The tank was just cleaned up, rust dealt with and 2 coats of silver hammerite smooth.

Rear beam, just the usual rub down and 2 coats of hammerite again.

Iain, I haven't seen you for 2 weeks 3 days

Interesting, I want to do this in the barn to the Corsa but I justh havent got enough space with it on stands, debating how to get it so clean without getting the whole of the barn wet

Do you have the original link where you saw it done first?

The threads are on passionford, seriesoneturbo.co.uk. I managed to wash it all down inside the lockup without too much spillage, it was just a bit time consuming, but time I have

Small update, engine bay primed

Also bought the best Corsa ever

This is going to be used to save the GSi that Fran currently has, so I have 2 cars on the go so the Grey GSi that we are reshelling will live to see another day as my run about

Luxurious interior

Unique boot repair

Nice

The best bit though

Should make a nice 2.0 runaround for winter with the bits of 3 cars to go into two cars and the shell of the one on the left in the pics.
