There's a lovely Cooper S GP Works for sale down the road, absolutely minted!! Much admired for a long time!!

Limited edition of 444 in the UK

218BHP, easily upped to 250.

Stripped out rear

Convertible would be going & the classic if this happens.

Thoughts?

EVO never seemed to rate them mate...IMO the origional Cooper S especially the new Turbo model is more than enough of a car.The GP is just like a Porsche RS not much point unless you have the cash and REALLY want it.

Theres one of these just up the road from a regular client of mine - used to own a clio v6 before hand. Is a proper car nut but doesnt look after them at all It's always filthy. He lives in a house with no form of parking at all though so cba with the hassle of promoting myself to him as it'd be a ballache

Cool looking cars though - I like They a unique colour as well btw?

all you would need to do is put a decent set of pads in a normal cooper s, can see you using them to there full advantage

this one is more expensive (therefore in the back of your mind when pushing it ? ) with difficult to replace and rarer parts should the worse happen, and isnt loads ligther irrc

Don't bother a high premium for a car with miniscule weight saving.

Best off getting a cheaper works or Cooper S and getting it mapped/tuned yourself.

From a residuals point of veiw its probably a good purchase providing it doesnt go out on track...

The fact that it could be used as a road legal track car makes it all the more appealing to me

Colin came across it for sale while randomly searching PH, I didn't have any intention of selling the mini's and buying another right now with the house and all that ...........but

mr Fad has a excellent point, if its a track car spend 6k on a standard S, strip it, cage it, brakes and coilovers for what 2k tops? remap/tyres for another 2k tops? 10 k total, save 5k, have a better track car.

or buy summin much cheeper that you can get to grips with on track and maybe stack it into a tyre wall or two and loose so much money you just wished you'd baught a crapper to start with instead!
