Currently toying between these two as my next car, can decide on which I would rather have though. Anyone got experience of either or both?

S2000's are going alot cheaper is one major plus point, but apart from price what else?

Just want something more interesting than the Civic Type R I currently have.
Doubt an s2000 would scare me to be honest having had a 350bhp rx7 before.

If it were me the choice would be the Honda or an Exige rather than the elise.

Honda for me then

From personal experience :

S2000 - didnt like the drive, felt sluggish until in 'the zone' (vtec) not often in 'the zone'. Interior very dated looking.

Elise - Couldn't fit in very well, dismissed as an only car. Interior - non existent!!!

Get a VX220 Turbo

See this would be my only car for my daily commute, so that could be a factor! Have looked at the VX220 aswell, but they are quite pricey at the moment for some reason

I wouldn't like one if I had to get to work & back in it. Imagine winter in an elise

VX has a better spec, hardtop, air con, stereo etc

Dont know if they are pricy, I thought around 9-10k for one??

If you have a quick swatch on pistonheads all quite pricey as it must be newer than my current car which is 2002.

Winter in one would be ok I think providing it didnt have a leaky roof...

Was looking at M3 / 350z / Evos but with having a company fuel card it needs to be reasonable or they will take it off me.

You obviously haven't owned one, even with your gizmo's turned off you still have more driver aids, its a very twitchy car. Anyone has owned one will know.

And driving one for 30 minutes or so i wouldn't class as experience

it's only scary because you crashed it rob

i'd go for the elise but don't think it'd do very well as a daily driver.

a guy down my road has an s1 elise in red and he only uses it at weekends as it's quite a focused car.

I never said i'd owned one ive drove one & it wasn't twitchy. Compared to something like an MR2 it felt pretty sure footed & that was in the wet I drove it & yes I was giving it plenty boot.

Not at all, everyone who went in it said the same, it's a very raw car and it does not understeer, so the first point you know its letting go is when the rear comes out, was fine in the dry and very exciting but in the wet a nightmare, and i had mine full geo setup and had 245/40/17 eagle F1s in staggered fitment so argueably the most stable setup possible

I know you didn't, but if you've drove one i doubt you were pushing it. 240 bhp with a LSD makes for a twitchy car ask anyone who owns. I'm sure Paul J would back me up

Well ive drove quite a few RWD cars & it didnt feel anything out of the ordinary. MR2 was the worst RWD car to keep pointing in the direction you want it to that ive ever been in, there wild, even the 170bhp ones, I cant imagine the turbo

darent let the turbo spool up if the road is even mildy damp. mine had a boost controller and at 3.5k the boost was instant. fucking quality straight line car but didnt feel too clever over roundabouts

I was left facing oncoming traffic in mine on a few occasions, picked up some damage a few times just being caught out, slightly damp / oil on road. It was horrendous
