Been thinking about taking the taking the plundge and getting my self a nice new car through my business. I'll have around £15-16K to spend and would prefer to buy something brand new or nearly new.

Top of my list at the moment is a Civic Type R and what i wanted to know is what you lot think of them or would my cash be better invested in another car.

Any opinions would be grateful.

Cheers

Like BigW said, get the Astra GSi.

Tuning potential is enourmous!

Avenger, If you buy a new car through your company you can claim back the VAT.

Nice motors, but the tax will be heavy on it (if it is company car)
Would prefer the Astra GSi myself m8

anz - Did think about an EVO 5 but all the ones i've see for sale up my way look shagged with stupidly high mileage or are up for stupid prices.

BigW - didn't know they had released the Astra GSI yet might pop down the local dealer after work

Also i'd be surprised if a Type R depreciates by 50% in 12 months they're not exactly the easiest car to get hold of second hand up my neck of the woods.

Type R's do not depreciate much during a matter of months because most dealers have problems getting hold of them. We had one, put 2k on the clock and then sold it back to the same honda garage as they couldn't get them. still got over 15k. Dave

Just a quick few questions:

Does the new GSI use the same engine as the Turbo Coupe?
Is the new GSI actually out yet?
How much does it cost?

My Dad used to have a Coupe Turbo and I drove it all the time, fucking lovely car, do you think the GSI will be a similar drive?

Not overly keen on ctrs, dont dislike em, but imo nothing special!
You could easily get a clean low milage evo5 for between 15and 16k especially as the 8 has just been realeased!
Go on get one you wont regret it!!

Vibrio - Getting myself confused here between the Leon & Ibiza do quite like the Leon but prefer the Ibiza and am I right in saying the Ibiza Curpra R has the same engine as the Leon, if not is there a similar mod for the Ibiza to release the horses.
