Smoke, knocks, taps etc, oil leaks, coolent level, check the wirings not bodged, make sure the proer mounts etc were used and not some home made crap check it exhaust has been modified well at the downpipe, has decent suspension to take the weight of the xe, bigger brakes fitted list goes on tbh

Why would you bother spending cash on an XE which I presume will cost £1k plus unless it's a buggered engine, just to fit a let? When you could buy a base spec model for much less, and buy proper mounts etc and it'll probably be less than you'd pay for a normal XE Corsa?

His not syaing it isnt mint, his saying why pay extra for a corsa with a bigger engine, if you are putting your own engine in.

there aren't proper shafts, but new motorsport ones would be good! but you can use 1.2 shafts, TD shafts ://

Mounts are the same, 1.2 mounts can be used, but new mounts, which you can look at yourself would be better, shake the engine! Deffo check mounts, i had a dodgy gearbox one, and that made the car handle and go in all directions!

only one mount is different, and if you change the cv's, small block shafts can still be used.

surely..
