...cars in for in tomorrow, ive never had to do one before and was just wondering what sort of things they can fail you on etc...
ive got a smashed back light atm but im going to fix that first thing tomorrow as ive just got myself a new one from a mate
other than that the only other problem i can notice is that my oil light has been on for the best part of 8 months but this is due to a faulty filter rather than no oil... apparently
...so just wondering what should i look to clean up and make sure is in full working order before the big day?
thanks and sorry if its in the wrong place, was a toss up between here and general

faulty oil filter? Change it then surely, won't cost more than a few quid!

Make sure all your bulbs are in working order, GET that light housing repaired, and generally check everything under the bonent including windowscreen washer.

Oil filter has nothing to do with the light.
RED oil light = pressure which either means a) your engine is fucked or b) the sensor is fucked as you've been driving it like that for months its probably the sensor.

I would hope its the sensor.
I've moved the thread anyway. Just for clarification, Off Day contains the line 'things other than cars' and General Chat is described as 'general car discussion'.
If in doubt, read the description. Best of luck with the test.

For anyone in the know, do you need a reverse light for a MOT?

Nope, its a non testable item but some testers will test it to see if it affects the lighting from any other bulbs

Seems you got a few differnet answers there.
The truth is, if it has one fitted it must work, but if you dont have one then you dont need one lol
