My mate's 54 plate ZR suddenly lost power the other day, and started pouring out what he says is grey smoke from the exhaust I've had him check for the usual mustardy colour in the coolant and under the oil cap but he says both are fine, it doesn't overheat and there are no leaks Has anyone had this before, and what was it? Thanks!

My mate was halfway past a Corsa in his 55 Reg ZR and it died. Running on 3 cylinders, drove it home using around 6 litres of oil for 20 mile. Smoke everywhere and at night it was a whitey grey but during the day it was a lighter blue. Waiting on him txting me back to tell me what it was again.

Sounds like he could do with carrying out a sniffer check on it Eck. Do you know anyone that's got a sniffer kit?

That'll let him know for certain whether there are combustion gasses in the coolant or not.

Sounds like head gasket though.

Fucking hell

Jim I know noone with a sniffer kit, but his dad's mate is a mechanic so he should do! Hopefully it's not HGF, but... Y'know, Silver MG ZR's are renowned for it

My ZT suffered with rear tire tread loss.

It all fell off after about three thousand miles. Either that or someone stole the tread with a parmesan shaver.

Or a cheese grater That's shocking Jim. Hope you find the bastids. Then you can give a wee cheeky burn out, whilst someone sprinkles on the rubber from an Asda tupperware in the hope it bonds back on
