I have a 3 door P1, you maybe saw my thread a few weeks ago.
Not really many cons if you're careful in maintaining your cars and you know generally how to do the small jobs yourself like oil changes, looking after fuel related things.
They sound nice, they handle and drive nice, instant power, the interior is comfy and lots of room in the boot for your shopping/prams/football equipment/grandma etc... the only con really is expensive bits n bobs and although the services are quite dear and frequent, I would advice you take out some sort of 3-5year warranty, I've just paid £600 for a 5 year warranty from Europa at Sheffield for mine.

That's an excellent deal J!
Kev, what kind of 3 door is it? Type R or P1?
As said, as long as it's maintained properly, and running on the correct fuel (safest to run it on the V power or similar) it should be a reliable car. But aye, the servicing is expensive, especially for things like the brakes!

That's not bad at all. Worth every penny IMO especially when owning a scoob.

I think they usually want a grand for 5 years don't they? But I waited for the next 'deal day' over the weekend 25th-26th July.
Brett your right, I'm sure I'd have spent that in the first 6 months on the rear suspension alone.

Is there age limitations on the car with these? Sure I looked into them once and it wouldn't cover cars 10+ yrs old. I was looking at getting a classic again, but the worry of the engine popping is too daunting. £2k rebuild

It wasn't mentioned to me but mine is 8 years old so maybe a couple more years on they would have told me to go away, but with mine being a ltd edition maybe there is a vested interest by Subaru to keep these cars going, I'm unsure tbh.
I did have to provide proof of rebuild by API 8k miles ago though, so I got the impression my circumstances helped a bit.

Looks really nice K3, just check what offset the wheels are though, with him changing them they could be rubbing.

Aye they utter drink petrol Anybody who says you'll get on average 30-35mpg taking it easy is on crack.
But worth it. Blitz NUR Spec exhaust would be a must for me. And it'll handle like an utter dream on good coilovers, which Cusco certainly are!

I've owned loads..
The non-turbos are a waste of time, because lets be honest they are fucking ugly cars so the only reason you would buy one for would be the performance.
Pro's:
IMHO there is NOTHING out of the box that will give you the same bang for your buck.
Doddle to work on compared to most performance cars.
Con's:
Paranoid owners clubs will make you think the slightly squeak from the brakes is a broken MAF sensor and a spun shell.
Parts prices are all over the show, its a bit of a joke really! I just bought a brand new front bumper for a 2002 WRX for less than a set of brake pasd (go figure!).
If you are not handy with the spanners be prepared to open your wallet, most garages believe the boxer engine is shrouded with mistery but in fact its a dream to work on.
If you buy a classic you will be forever branded a tosser and if you buy a new age you will be branded 'mid life crissis man'.
