Recently started a new job which involves more miles to and from work so thinking of getting a derv what would people suggest i have roughly £1500 at the minute could be raised to £2000 after payday so far in mind is 306 or mk4 astra?
would be getting lowered set of alloys and remap then just leave it at that
but then also thinking of getting corsa 1.4 sport as cant b any worse on fuel than car currently have?

I had a 1.4 sport and it done about 300 miles to a tank but my 1.6 sport done 350 miles to a tank and that was with engine mods. As for a remap i would not bother if its just going to be a workhorse. a 306 turbo diesel with the boost pumped right up would be good for power although it may not last long. I have a MK4 astra, mine has a bigger engine than you want but as a car i think its good, spacious, comfy and parts are readily available.

2.0DTi Astra is what you want, by the looks of it. Can be had quite cheap for one with a few miles on.

just liked the thought of 1.4 lowered 60mm on cav slabs then when money situation gets better(i save:lol xe the corsa then get another daily runner
