Theres honestly nothing you can do to a 1.2 8v engine to make it any faster.

Strip it out, reduce weight, is the only way really.

striping the car of any weight, it's seriously not worth it.

If i were you, get bigger brakes off a gsi, and the suspension ,it'll lower it slightly, it won't be faster, but you can corner better, brake later etc.

Oh well, Just get the engine ripped out, get a 1.4/1.6 16v engine, or even a 1.6 8v nova gsi engine.

And on Cue i appear

Theres quite a bit you can do tbh, ill list what i did (if i can remember)

1.8 8v spi throttle body
1.6 8v spi Inlet manifold (file it out to match the diameter of the throttle body)
1.4 8v spi injector
Nova SR camshaft
Sportex 4 branch manifold and decat
Blanked off egr

All that made my 1.2 1000x better, although the timing was out so it used to use loads of fuel and spit flames
