my car got broken into last night, i had 3 items taken from the car, reported it to the police and an officer was supposed to come and have a look at the car but never turned up so anyway, i decided to have a look on ebay just now and 1 of the items that was taken was listed 1 hour ago and the seller lives approx 7 miles away. coincedence? i dont think so. there are unique identifiers on the item so i'm 99.9% sure its mine. funny thing is another item similar to mine is being sold with the same description that it is a garage clearout and was taken from a works van. so i think they has a crime spree last night.i told the police about it and they said they are gonna look at the items and an investigating officer will call me soon.
do you think i should bid on the item? i've got a mobile number for the seller but dont want to ring incase they get spooked lol. it says cash on collection aswell so might go collect. shall i wait for the police or go up and see if its mine?
anybody had a similar experience of finding stolen stuff on ebay?

Police will do nothin trust me, But if you go round and kick his head in remember they robbed it off you and know where you live and what you drive etc,
Make a deal to co collect, at the end of the day you want your stuff back and costs for damage to your car or whatever and you wont get that from the coppers

Everyone is right with what they have said, but think about the repercussions first!! He knows where you live etc?
What I would do............Buy the item, go see him, make sure its yours but then say summat like, nah its not the one Im after then walk away. Stake him out for a few days being VERY careful not to be seen, walk and bus if you have to. Then once youve got him sussed, go back alone at night with a hoody and wait for him with a brick.
Might be a few unsuccessful visits for you but you will get him in the end, trust me. Little tw@ts like this have plenty of enemies so you wont even be a suspect!

it happened in my mrs street but the car was not parked outside her house but a few houses down so maybe he doesn't know where i or my mrs lives but then if he knew what was in my car he could of staked it out a few times and seen me going to my mrs house

go round there if it is yours just turn round and say,listen mate blah blah tell him the story and say i no were u live want my car fixed,if he gives it large av it out with him dont worry bout repercussions otherwise you'll get no were.

Bid on it, win the auction, get his address then go round & rob him (when hes out) including the item you bid on. Then when he says you cant get it anymore leave him bad feedback
