hi all, well i didnt know where to post this so please move if it needs to be in help zone.

basically, my missus sport, has started kicking out white smoke...lots of it, starting to over heat and drives like its only running on 3 cylinders.

I know it sounds and looks like a head gasket, but my question to you is how much hassle will it be to either repair it, or just replace it. She really loves the car so selling aint an option.

Do the head gasket etc, or fit a new engine!!!!!!!!!

Oh if it helps, my brother is a mechanic..has everything to do an engine change. Has done engine transplants before, but wonders what will be cheaper, easier and less hassle lol!!!!!

cheers all

You'd be better off changing the gasket tbh, you'd have to tell the insurance that it has a new engine in it and they may not be pleased.

A guy that lives on my mate's street had a 1.3 Fiesta and the engine went bang, so he put a 1.1 in it as he didn't want to sell. Added several hundred pounds to the insurance.
