the time has possibly come to move on from the corsa and i am looking for ideas for a new track car.

ideas have been thrown around about removing the let from the corsa and put a small black xe on throttle bodies in it to calm the power down abit, as iam sure fad will agree its abit aggressive on track.

or do i move on and start again? if so to what?

mk3 golf vr6 is top of the list at the moment!

discuss track cars and options

First thing your have to ask yourself adam is RWD or FWD

now your get people comming out and saying RWD is for drivers blah blah, but knowing your car history and guessing its similar to me your expriance of RWD stuff isnt massive, im certainly not confident myself anyway

once youve worked that out, then time to choose, but at the risk of beeing like tony, his golf is so impressve i would be tempted to copy , the other option IMO is to get some "proper" shocks for it, and management on the corsa and fine tune it to get it to work, as in reality its not far away from beeing a finished aritcal

dont get a vr6 anyway

the other problem with the corsa is its gets so hot. on tuesday i was doing 20 mins on track and half hour in the pits waiting for it to cool down. which led to little track time.

proper shocks and management is an option that has crossed my mind but i could start again for the money that would cost.

n/a and fwd FTW

Depends on budget really. Probably something French.

I'm having an MGF after the Puma, then hopefully an E36 M3.

yes. but corsas are the same. some of the corsas i have seen make me cringe on the corrosion i find on them yet i have never owned i rotten one or one that has cracked the b pillars.

i guess its how you look after them that makes a difference to a degree

I say this every single time, but a 106 XSi/Rallye, with a GTi engine. Stick tb's/cams/management and a derestricted exhaust and you will have an absolute flyer.

Been thinking. IMHO, your best plan would be to get a new bonnet with louves in to allow any heat out. Proper management and a boost controller. On track set the boost to standard, mine was running 8psi at 230 and was perfect, and then you could whack it for anything else. Perfect for all occasions.

Can you not get it mapped to smooth out the power delivery?

Then do what Pickford said, get some decent bonnet vents?
