Paradas are coming in at 130 the set in a 195/50/15.

R888 are more than that for a pair.

Help me either justify spending more or feel better about being a cheapskate.

They're for the Poomerang for Combe and Trax btw. So I can't see them being much use for anything after that weekend

Just fork out the extra.

You and I both know you're not going to sell the car after those two shows So look at it as an investment.

Yokos last quite well...ive done 2 track days and road miles to germany and out and about and they still have loads of tread left....BUT i also now have a spare set of wheels with R888's on them and my god do they make a difference.... dont buy paradas if its only for track use you will regret it and only end up buying R888's in the long run!

Track car? 888s everytime.

Watch out though, you will be faster than loads of more powerful and expensive cars and they wont get out of your way, especially at Trax. I ended up hanging back last time i went just to try and get half a lap without some bell end getting in my way.

A048's last longer, might be better investing in them.

yokohama is a better make than toyo, don't really know how toyo got thought of as a high end make, they aren't that good.

Hankook RS2's running them on my teg and they are the best tyres i have used. The grip is amazing due to the soft rubber and stiff walls.

I think thats a bit unfair. Both manufacturers have made good and bad tyres like most of them out there. I remember having some A539s when i had my corsa, horrible.

I wrote my Corsa off because it was on Yoko A520s. Wonderful in the dry and that is where the wonderfulness stopped.

I was just trying to guage if the 300 quid tyres are 180 quid better than the 120 quid.

I'm going to buy 4 so them being more than twice the price makes a difference. But if I'm going to have more than twice the fun then I suppose I need to stomach it.

Really? I bet it was more to do with the driving style tbh.

I find driving to the conditions usually prevents such mishaps.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Spending that extra £180 on the 888's means you won't have to spend extra on something else to make it go better.
