There a different compound to the green ones for heavier cars. Ive never tried them myself but would imagine there ok, they have been going since forever.

I have green stuff pads on the the XSI, pretty crap IMO. Upgrading to Mintex disks & pads with GTI calipers to get rid of them.

good budget pads, much better than standard.
Reds means less dust, but needs more temperature.
Yellows, from memory, need to be really heated up before they work. All out track pads.
I had a full EBC setup on 2.0 Brakes and the thing stopped on a dime. FAR superior to my V6 288mm setup.

Fucking diabolical.
I put yellows in the Astra on recommendation from Courtenay, I had to change them again a week later they were that bad.
As soon as Warren put the Mintex 1144 in they were instantly better and they weren't even bedded in or warm.
Stay well clear IMO.

But why would they say put outright track pads on a road car??
These have to be WELL up to temperature to use properly. Another Courtenay balls up they aint going to work well on the road at all?

I hate EBC stuff with a passion.Utter dog shite imo.
Had the greenstuff pads on a road car, utter toss.No feel or bite to them.Went back to standard pads and they were 10x better.
Had redstuff pads on my Pulsar with high spec 4pots and they were worse. On the road they didnt bite atall and on track they didnt heat up enough to bite hard like they are supposed to.The 288s with turbo calipers and standard pads were much better. And they were on a corsa with the smaller M/C.
As Ojc says,stay well clear.

I've had green stuff and not rated them, preferred standard gm pads.
But I use mintex m1144 and can't rate them highly enough for road and track use.

Umm, they aren't outright track pads Daimo. They are fast road/track pads and don't get better with heat. I tried and tried to get them to be good but the hotter they got the worse they felt.
The Mintex are awesome in every circumstance and are even more track focused than EBC's.

Yeah my Mintex pads squeel a fair amount, but that's because I'm having to use the car for driving to work and back until next week. When out on a weekend drive they don't squeel at all.

ebc arn't very good, and my reds give out loads more dust than the genuine pads i had before, although the genuine pads did melt within 3 laps on a trackday!
i cant recomend ferodo enough though, on my track car they are fantastic, they work from cold and never fade. i shall be changing to them on my road car if they ever wear out or i go for 4 pots.

few ppl on audi sport had problems with EBC greenstuff falling apart on A3/S3's. I had EBC discs and greenstuff, crap tbh not worth the money at all. You would get better use from viper stripes and neon washers tbh.

Thats probally more to the fact that dust n dirt behind the pads vibrate under braking and make that high pitched squeal rather then crappy pads, abit of copper grease on the backs of the pads should do the trick.

My experience with red stuff was that they needed to be up to temperature before they bite well, bad for cold mornings.

i've got green stuff pads and ebc discs on my astra
found they're a lot better than the standard ones I had before, bit crap first thing on a morning but good once warmed up.
I've heard off a few people that ferodo are good so might be worth trying them
