Just recently found out that the redtop i just purchased has the coscast head on it.
Whats the deal with it? Pros and Cons over the GM one? Will this be a desirable aspect when selling the car?

Lies, just as porous prone as a GM head.
Valve guides are different, something to do with the valves or the inlet ports. Larger than the GM head (hence flowing more air).
Exhaust ports may be different.
Really, theres hardly any difference. Look under Exhaust port 3 for the coscast stamp.

You have to take a picture of the badge that says Coscast and post it on your project thread.

I didn't really know tbh, just what I'd heard somewhere.

I've heard that before too Ellis. But tbh I think it's just the fact that there were fewer Coscasts to start with, so there are bound to be less going porous.

just an aside, neither actually go 'porous' the oil way in question actually cracks, usually from over tightened head bolts when the head gasket is done, the sleeve mod is easy enough and fixes it pretty permanently
GM heads are fine, especially if you plan to fit larger valves and do port work

mine has just passed a pressure test with flying colours
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
