ran into the back of sum1......a shitty R reg subaru.
anyway, my vol excess is £1,000
As its my fault, do I pay this to the insurance company? or because he is claiming of me, its different?
I dont understand how it works, im trying to do this outside of insurance though

Try and settle without going through insurance, and hope they don't put in for whiplash.

If he claims on you, you don't pay your excess.
If you claim on your own insurance to fix your car, you pay the excess.
The excess is only payable when *YOU* claim on your own insurance, regardless of faul or non-fault claims. A 3rd party claiming on your insurance does not require you to pay the excess.

He will claim on your insurance. Your insurance co will pay for his repair, or write of his car if its beyond economical repair.
You will not pay an excess unless you claim for repairs to your own car.
