Been mapping our Formula Student engine at the moment.

Took the exhuast extraction off and took it up to 11,000rpm...was soooo loud 
Played about with intake runner length today, and got 10Nm more throughout the mid range but lost peak power.
Will get some new restrictors RP'd and see what the difference that makes, would like to validate a Ricardo WAVE model with different restrictors ideally.
Also got a set of cams still to go in

what was the standard bhp?
have you been mapping the fueling and ignition?
so have you done it all on flow test software cadd design, then put theory into practise?

Standard is around 100bhp and we have a 20mm restrictor in the intake after the throttle.
Took about 2 hours to do the the fuel and ignition mapping.
Yeah this is all the experimental work to validate CAE models.

FFS your uni has its own engine dyno, we had to take ours away to do it.

We've got a few dynos too. Our engine is done and the CVT and gearbox have been completed. I think the chassis is getting painted this weekend

We have our own dyno but nobody to teach us to how to use it properly. We just push buttons, learn how it works and away we go.
CVT is the future ed, its the only way to make engines fuel efficient.
