Thought id start up a project thread as its going to be a long running one

Bought her like this on 23rd of june for £80 cash, has no keys currently but hoepfully itll be running soon, its a 1.4 5dr corsa vegas, cracking little car, and will do me ideal for getting to work and back in rather than abusing the nova

As i bought her:

Fitted my dvd player, astra gsi steering wheel, my nova sri steel wheels, a small exhaust tip and de-badged the boot:

Then went to the scrappy and got some bits, a badge for the grille, some facelift solid headrests, a cowling, new gearknob, a passenger mirror visor, along with afew othe bits and bobs:

Today i gave all the plastics a clean with bumepr care, all came out good apart from the drivers front arch one, so ill replace that this weekend

Fitted a Punto rear wiper:

Stonechipped some of the surface rust in the engine bay, only a temp tos top it getting worse:

Romoved my DVD player and fitted a standard Vauxhall CD player, much better i think:

Also fitted my Vauxhall performance car club sticker i found in a Calibra at my local scrappy, lucky or what lol:

Also, the ariel wire had been cut or ripped where it meets the stereo for some reason, so i got my spare nova one, extended it out under the rear seats, then ran the wire under the carpet to the headunit, works fine and picks up frequency's with ease:

Thats all for now untill tomorrow

Cheers for all the posotive comments guys helps keep me motivated

Been to the scrappy again today, got myself an arch trim, 2 mirrors as my manual leavers have given up, a standard splitter for the bumper as mine is missing for some reason, 2 new wipers that dont seen to have any of the usual play in them (look different to corsa items though, but still off a corsa) and afew other bits and bobs

Only had half an hour to work on it today, so did what i could

Fitted the original splitter off one from a scrappy as mine had been misplaced as somepoint before i bought it:

Fitted my enw wipers whislt i could, no play in these either, been told they usually make their own way up windscreens?

And got rid of those HORRIBLE L.E.D washerjets and replaced them with some standard items:

Much better , thats all till tomorrow folks

Well she finally RUNS! lol, runs spot on no nasty nocks or rattles etc, so looks like the gamble paid off . Only thing thats wrong with it is the starter motor is sticking every time it starts, and its a game of "flick the key on and off" to get it to become un-stuck. Hopefully got a second hand replacement coming next Wednesday

And in true Dave fasion, i had to get some pictures of the work done today

Painted my Callipers on Wednesday with some silver Hammerite we had spare:

The backbox was absoloutley rotten so removed that, which took around 2 hours using a flatblade screwdriver and a hammer lol, so put on the only one i had for a corsa, Peco BB2, doesnt add a stupid amount of noise and was free, plus meant for a corsa too :

And then just took her out for some general summer pics:

Also, the car has 20 litres (Half a tank) of fuel in, so i effectivley only paid £58 for the car , Also the key was cut as a freebie for some work we did in the oast for him, so alltogether, the car bought, running and all current modifications done, £58

thats all for now

Forgot to post, fitted my calibra wheel last week:

Looks well, and also a small sticker

NOW TODAYS PROGRESS!!!

Well today got a call from the local scrappy, "Got a corsa comign in now on the truck, want me to stop by yours see if theirs anythign you want off it?"
Though to myself, may aswell, you never know

So anyway he came down with it, blown headgasket but had an immaculate black interior in it, dash carpet seats cards the lot! so i thought about it for abit, then i thought "MEHHH... what the hell "

So spent from 9am this morning untill around 8pm stripping the interior out of the scrap one, then stripped my interior out, and then put my old grey interior back into the silver one so it was a full car, and seen as i replaced everything i got a black interior for FREE!

Anyway, heres some pictures of it in the scrapper:

Didnt get any pics of it getting stripped as we were running on a tight scedual, but heres mine all stripped out:

And how i left it tonight as i was nearly passing out with exhaustion

All thats left to fit now is the two front seats, dash, and afew plastic bits, then its all done, couldnt of done it without Dave and Woolfy at work though, an ex vauxhall mechanic and an ex service and repair mechanic, what could be better lol, BIG BIG thanks to them

Hope you all like,
