Even if you have insurance it will be invalidated by not having a MOT or Tax

Only to take it from an MOT failure to be repaired elsewhere?

You can only drive without an MOT if you're driving to or from a pre-booked MOT appointment.
You can't drive around getting it repaired.
Trailer it. I've got one you can borrow if you can tow it.

If the car is not taxed then it is not allowed any part of it on the public highway. Needs to be trailored, cant even tow it as all the wheels need to be off the ground with no tax. Or you could just try and be brave, but i wouldn't risk it.

negative, a dolly can be used where back wheels are on the ground and car doesnt need tax or mot.

If you want to MOT a car and it has no MOT or tax you are still allowed to drive it on the road to a pre-arranged appointment at an MOT testing station. If you bothered reading the thread properly you'd have seen this.

You can take it from the testing station to somewhere elsewhere to have the repairs made, then you can drive it back for a pre-booked MOT test legally. My Corsa needed a new fuel tank, Vauxhall wanted £800 to do the job. I phoned VOSA to verify if I was actually allowed to take the car elsewhere to be repaired after it had failed it's MOT, they said it would be fine.

To clarify though, was the car placed on the MOT'ers trade plates or driven under your own plates?
Its always a tricky situation this, but the most deffinate answer to this all is to Trailer the car. You just have to find a car with a Bar that is allowed to tow the corsa's weight!
