I've been recently looking at a car but something doesnt seam to be right or maybe im just been a retard as its late at night and im pretty tired ,

looking at the free DVLA reg check thingy it shows the below..


1, Date of Liability, 01 11 2009
2, Date of First Registration, 01 03 2005
3, Year of Manufacture, 1991

The 1st and 2nd one are confusing me by the years...

Anyone able to shed some light on this as to the years or is that normal

Liability is when it needs taxed.

First reg is probably when it was imported.

Yeah nothing too strange in that data if I'm guessing you knew it wasn't a UK car.

you think its confusing.......heres mine to help

1, date of liability...................01/02/2010
2, date of first registration.....01/02/2009
3, year of manufacture...........1949

my car is an Alvis, built in coventry in 1949......hence number 3
I aquired a new log book for it in febuary this year.....hence number 2
as the car is currently being restored (declared sorn)it doesn't need taxing till febuary 2010.......hence number 1.
