Update: This was in uni car park, just seen in the campus newspaper that it was a guy who was spotted driving erratically, parked up and stumbled off somewhere.

So as a precaution to him trying to drive away they did this

Funny if he was so pissed he didn't notice and tried to drive off

CLAMPED!

Apprently, yes you can take some off. I've seen a video where they release the tyre pressure & slide the clamp away, only works on certain clamps though.

I would like to see them try and get a clamp on my car

Actually I wouldn't, they'd probably damage the wheel and arch and then say it was already like that.

My mates saxo got clamed on a little local car park by a cowboy clamping business and it was my fault for telling him to park there so we went to mine got tools and got the clamp off...

Took the clamp with us and ripped all the signs saying clamping in progress and took those with us too

It was on an old, old episode of 5th gear that as long as there aren't sufficient signs to let you know you'll be clamped you can throw them to fuck. I know I'd be doing everything in my power to get one off mine.

The wankers say anything, you claim to not have a clue. Let's see them try to prove anything.

I remember reading a while back, I think it was Ed got clamped, came back, had a look how it was attached, jacked the car up, took the clamp off, then the knobheads picked the clamp up and put it on the other side So he had to pay cos he didn't have time to take it off again

If you can take it off without damaging it then you're perfectly within your rights to do so. The fine you're charged is to remove the clamp, if you remove it yourself it's free
