Been thinking of a different approch to the corsa, getting tempted with the idea of selling off the throttle bodies.....

and bolting on a rotex charger

good/bad idea, i would of thought power would be same, but totaly different to drive, dont know which would be better on a track though....

I picked supercharger as, like you said, its something different. Defo look into it a bit more, would be an interesting read i think
Would you have to change alot of what youve done so far to go down that route?

i dont see why i would have too

would keep existing exhasut system
get it fit an fmic

make a custom or buy dbilas inlet manifold, but i like the idea of making...

might have to change cams to suit a charger

im not sure if i will HAVE to lower the compression, i know they dont need as low compression as a turbo

need to talk to someone to get figures.

but if i was to do it, it would be being done while cars running 190-200bhp, as that engine build spec is still getting done, with 1.6 rods etc

Sounds good, custom manifold is the way to go. What gearbox would you go for?
Short ratio for good 0-60 times?

same box, but would go standard ratio gears, geared too low atm

whats brought this on, is my mate with a corsa c z18xe, spec'd 4-2-1 manifold, sports cat, cat back system, cams, lightened flywheel and remap 150bhp proven is exactly the same as mine in speed wise, now i have fitted my lightened flywheel i have abit more pull on him.

but my cars lighter, has a low ration fd, so should accerate quicker...

now we fitted a dbilas inlet too it, i bet its gonna be quicker...

i know my cams are killing my power, but it just shows that you dont need tb's, as with another remap he will see a geniune 160-170bhp

I think I'd rather have an 888 in silver as well, wheels look wicked on them.

hard to find any info about chargers

think could be an expensive unnessary change of plan, although id love to charge something

the whine....

parts id need, as far as my knowledge goes

Charger, pref centifugal, to power upper rpm (why mini charger is no good)
Pipe work
Intercooler
Custom plenum/inlet manifold or dbilas inlet (too expensive though)
cams can be adjusted with vernier pullies to retardtiming abit

or maybe i should just finish something, and stop finddling with it - good idea warren.

yeah because the inlet itself was restricting the power. i mean i could have done a single tb and a plenum i just fancied being posh and having more throttle response. std inlet on mine yes can make peak power, but it dies a death at 6k revs. whereas now i make more power at 7200rpm on way less boost.
