My mate Richmongs just got them on his Saxo, they sound awesome

Even though its a 1390cc, it sounds like a Yamaha R1 at 3,000 rpm.

They do a exhaust system for the MR2 that look pretty similar to bike cans, pics below:

I read somewhere that they ruin performance. Is this true? Its something to do with the backpressure build up.

Oh my god that must be very very loud!!

I have seen those MR2's in the flesh with the exhausts and they are very loud with just two of them...bearing in mind there bigger cars anyway with reference to engine size etc...but four must sound mental!!


and he must of spent a few bob as I was quoted about £1300 for the full exhaut kit on mine with only 2 cans!!!

Yeah, he knew about the performance sapping rumour but we both think it feels more torquie now.

Its well loud up to about 3000rpm, after that it drops off.

He paid £700 for them 4, which I thought was quite good.

do people not realise that more silencers = less noise?

Anyway, as for the backpressure issues, bikes probably use a smaller bore, as they have smaller capacity engines.

Unless you have custom wide bore motorbike silencers made for your car like I did....

Looks good actually.

I've got a poster in my garage on teh wall with a blue saxo with 4 motorbike exhausts. Looks quite good, but they look a little small.

Mine looks slightly more standard, as the exhausts are all I've done to the exterior so far...

looks better than it did before the body work. and as for the DTM I can't argue with you there. can't stand the tail pipes love the sound though
