I had R666BMX on a corsa, i've still got the log book, sold the car though.
What do i need to do now to get the plate and just put it in my name?
Only want to flog it tbh. More hassle than its worth?
Thanks

it will be a right ballache, the plate belongs to the car, if the car is taxed and insured then someone is going to have to fuck about with the tax and changing their insurance over and all that shite.

As said, the new owner would have to swap tax and insurance about.
You can't only put it on an R reg car, that would make private plates a bit of a waste of time, you just can't put it on anything older than R.

it will also cost you 80 quid to transfer or 105 to take it off the car and put on retention.

just doing it myself, swapping the plate on the car to the guy i bought the car offs van then putting my plate on my car, its all on the dvla website, you will need the new keeper to fill in the form as he is now the owner of the plate, as said £80 or £105 retention
