It'll be the same as any other Vauxhall engine mate.
Remove rocker cover, take off cam caps, Remove cams(obviously cambelt first) then remove the old lifters with a magnet then refit new lifters.
I put my new lifters in a vice first just to help free them off a bit.
Cost I don't know. Think my XE ones from Autovaux were around £130.

My XE lifters came from another engine. Had a price from vauxhall at something daft like £35 each. You can get a full set for around £150 if you shop around.
Best way to get them out is with a valve grinding stick with a sucker on it. They come out so easily

We all know what he meant
Best place I found was Autovaux, They're genuine INA like what are fitted from factory. Don't be tempted with the cheap ebay crap.
I just used a magnet on a stick and they came out nice and easy.

thanks guys, just had my car back from the garage and the tappets/lifters dont seem to bad. BUT.... apparentley the lifters are so noisy because my car was so low on oil. and its low on oil because its burning oil so the guy in the garage is going to flush my engine friday and change my oil filter and oil etc. if its still the same he reckons its either going to be my oil stem seal or my piston rings. anybody got any idea how much this will cost? thanx guys

Buy a X16XE from a low mileage late car (W reg or something) and swap out the inlet with the gsi engine
