Because they'll never treat it as well as if they earned the money to pay for it themselves.
Say for example she crashed it, she'd be thinking "daddy's going to be mad" as opposed to if she bought her own car, it'd be "my car "

I respect things that have been bought for me just as much as buying them myself, i'd take anything that was going.

Paying for my own car at 17 gives me a sence of satisfaction, i worked for it and i paid for it. She probs just asked dady nicely, maybe its the way i have been brought up but i would rather work for my car personally.

I will admit i do consider myself very lucky as my mum bought me my car, as she knew i would never be able to afford learning, insurance and car on the miserable wage im on, but at the end of the day it is a P reg corsa with high mileage. It didnt break the banks.. Some parents do take the piss though

My mate has had all 3 of his cars bought for him since he passed and he dosnt car about them.Washes them etc but his last car,an 06 plate 206 sport used to get its cunt kicked the minute he finished work.Stone cold, sat for 8 hours, then bouncing the limiter when he finished.I always asked why he done it and told him itl go bang soon enough, his excuse, its still under warranty and im getting rid soon.
His dads just bought him a 51 plate 330d Msport and that gets the same.Hes no gonna be so lucky this time as its puffing out blue smoke on start-up and it wont have a warrantly.lol.Daddy will pay for it tho when it does need a new blower.

It's always people who weren't bought the things that say there's no respect, there is.
People who don't respect it probably wouldn't respect it no matter who bought it.

I wouldn't say she was a "lucky lucky badger" more like someone who in 3 years time is going to realise that not everything is given to you on a plate! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA gutted for when that happens!

First car, brand new Merc. I don't think she will have that to worry about. I never understand why it bothers people so much when other peoples parents splash out.
