As above really- opinions, advice and pics welcome.

Hes looking at hatchbacks...3 or 4 doors. Wants decent looks, handling and reliability...straight line speed would be good but its not the biggest factor.

Hes 28 with a clean licence so insurance will be fine. He will be using the scrappage scheme so he could maybe go up to 16.5k sale price as he will get 2k of that off

Ive suggested to him a seat lean which is right at the top of his budget or a fiesta of some sort

Cheers - forgot to mention he is intereted in a leon... right at the top of his budget if not a little over.... so any suggestions other than leon would be great... unless you think theres nothing better?

In today market you could definately get a Leon Cupra for 15k and under brand new. Definately.

Alfa Mito.

15k would get you a nice one and Alfa are doing the scrappage scheme.

17k would get you a nice 1.4 Turbo with 155bhp in top spec, with some money of extras (Leather, Cruise etc etc).
