Get down to Wickes, I've bought 3 today and it's come to under £3.

The prices on the hanger things were something like £3.50, £3 and £2.80, but they went through at 87p, 80p and 73p. Seem alright too, and you can't argue for that price. They go from 7mm to 21 or 22 I think

True, must be a mistake though. My theory is they were upping the prices, but only put the pence in and not the pounds.

Can't really argue though, only lost two thirty in total

These but not in a set: http://www.wickes.co.uk/Sundry-Tools/Combination-Spanner-Set/invt/167742

i nearly bought a few 30mm+ combination spanners from halfords today but had no idea what i'd ever use them for so didnt bother. they looked cool though lol!
as far as cheap spanners i'd only get halfords pro stuff so when it does break they give you new ones

I always have a silly giggle at the 34mm spanners in Halfords

I did go to Halfords first but their combination ones didn't look like they'd do what I needed them to, and it would have cost more

draper/halfords ect im sure are all made by the same people, iknow draper dont make their own tools as they buy them from a factory so im guessing halfords get them from the same place as thier tools are idetical,
personaly i quite like the spaners from draper and halfords, wouldnt but naff all else from them tho! good price

Cheap spanners aint worth the time when your using them day in day out. I have a cheap set and an expensive set and the difference is quite remarkable

to be ohnest i use halfords spaners and ratchet spaners and stubby spaners at work, seem them same compared with snap-on spaners that work mates have just not as pircey, i do admit they are not as good as flank drive snapon spaners but they do the job for me, they are very strong and reliable, to be fair i know snap on have lifetime garantee but their stuff aint all good quality, most of my tools are snapon as i need them for work and ive noticed that theres beter tools out there for half the price, ive got a set of 3/8 torx sockets i payed 140 quid for and i dont get on with them at all, they twist and brake far to easily! anoys me alot when doing a rush waitig job,

At my last job I was thinking of getting a set of Snap On spanners, but the guy came round on a Wednesday which I almost always had off

Good job I didn't though, only worked there 3 and a bit months in the end, now work in an office

They say Chrome Vanadium on them which is what all the top of the range brands are made of as well.

i use facom spanners every day and half the time they are getting tghe shit beat out of them (heavy plant) and i have never once had a problem with them, combined with how much they cost you really cant beat them for value, and im talking sizes from 8mm up to 46+

Maybe, just maybe, because you cant get a socket on it? For example, you have a long length of stud bar with a nut in the middle.
