A few scribbles in a book is no way to guarantee a cars mileage.

As the system is now all computer based, clearly both of these tests have been conducted under this new system to have the data on record, surely wouldn't it throw up an error that the mileage has actually gone down??? Not sure if its mentioned in that thread, i didn't read all 14 pages...

The same happened to me with a transit i bought last year, but luckily i HPI'd it just after i got it.. like within a week, and it came back exactly the same, the finance company are the people who have to be contacted as its there vehicle at the end of the day!
I got the finance cleared, the van taken away and a nice cheque for the hassle!
Doesnt always work like that though, but as above, service history doesnt mean a thing and isn't worth the paper its wrote on

Two things - this guy posted the thread before giving the retailed the opportunity to rectify and he's also 'lost interest' in the car. There's no provision for that under his rights as a buyer and he's not protected against falling out with the vehicle because it's not as described to him.

The lad contacted audi :
quote: At Leicester Audi the car was serviced at the following times with the following mileages...
-27 Jan 06 at 34,568
-30 Aug 06 at 52,729
-10 Feb 07 at 71,579
Then at Liverpool Audi it had the cam belt changed at 92,589 miles.
There is no history between then and the MOT in the same month until I bought it in September 08!
so it has been clocked.

well
i dont think you can do a "milage correction" on a 8p A3
the milage can only ever be entered once on new dash cluster
a dash cluster on another car cant be coded to another car
work that one out

Someone has found a way - that history is quite a story.
