There's a car that appears to be abandoned in my works carpark - I'm actually interested in contacting the buyer to see what the deal is and offer to buy the car - However i have no way of contacting them.

Is there any way i can get a name and address to contact the owner of the car?

Its a relatively nice car, but its been there a long time and appears to be almost rotting away!

Cheers

if it was on the road, you could put a claim in for it. I suppose if you did put a claim in for it, it would express an interest to the owner that you'd like to buy it. Other than that no idea.
Could also try asking around your work mates etc see if anyone knows whose it is?

think u can go on askmid.co.uk and do an insurance database search, if the cars insured i think you can go on to pay and get the owners details and insurance details. Possibly address or phone no. Never used it tho so i dont know quite how it works

wtf lol, gotta be stolen. You can claim a car that appears to be abandoned, think it may have to be untaxed as well. I was almost going to claim a yellow 106 gti but the bastard dvla took it away and scrapped it lol. I'm not sure how you put a claim in, best to contact the dvla I guess?

Yeah it only tells you its on the database - I was hoping for a name and address.

Just went to look.
Its awful - The bonnet is coverd in just tree crap and mould.

The tax must have been taken out and sent back - The last Tax disc ran out in 2007, and the car looks to have been there a long time..

So all in

Its an 06 plate RX-8
Insured
No tax
I'm assuming no MOT but am unable to tell - Would be just about to run out as its almost 3 years old...

I could apply for the V5C - BUT, i'd still have no remote, access to the car / immobiliser stuff - The RAC would happily break in for me i suppose.. lol

if it is the wrong car i.e. a clone, then the owner is likely to say no to transferring the V5 aren't they

Have you actually asked anyone at work who the car belongs to?

Could be someone who doesn't have space for it at his house and got banned from driving, so just left it at work...

Sounds highly unlikely tbh...
Why would you leave a car like that, in a state like that, at work... parked more or less in a hedge.. lol

You might be getting ahead of yourself.

I'll ask when i go back in tomorrow...

There was a murder locally and 2 guys from my work were arrested and escorted from work while on the work premises - Theirs possibly, though they wouldn't have been able to remove the tax..

Could just see me bloody getting it and opening the boot to a dead body lmao!
