Right really first time i have ever posted in general chat and posted stuff about my car. Ive owned it since august 2006 44k with a 1.2 8v

Its gone through some changes, and i regret some of them

Then a few months back i was thinking about selling the car until i got offered a 2 Litre 8v car, took the engine out

Then got to re building it with Torsa G its had new:
Shells
engine gasket set
water pump
cam belt
distrubter cap
rotory arm
crank sensor
coolant temp sensor
auxillary belt kit

Mods to the engine.
Red top piston to higer compression
c20let fuel injectors

Then easter weekend me and torsa g got to taking the 1.2 engine out and fitting the 2litre engine in, we come across numerous problems as explained in my projects thread, but this is the outcome

There is an air filter on it before it gets mentioned just didnt have one on at the time the picture was taken. comments welcome

Would the130bhp 2L 8v be a cheaper conversion than a redtop?

In the long run i guess, ive heard that 8v is more reliable and cheaper/easier to repair

as everyone knows cheap doesnt come into it when you do a conversion, when we was putting the engine in we had several problems, bent a valve, cv joint broke but torsa g who did it with me found another head that cost £20 and the inner cv joint that went cost me £23

i wouldnt mind it been rr next month just too see what kind of power it is putting out with the red top pistons in and fuel injectors just to see has it made a difference.

Why the XE pistons??

And the injectors wont make a difference without supporting mods.Infact it will probably be over-fuelling.

Get it on a RR soon as or you may cook it.

weve put the xe pistons in because it was the 113bhp engine that we put in which runs lower compression than the 20seh, so by having the xe pistons in it has took the the compression ratio higher than an xe would be as the combustion chamber on the 8v head is less than the the 16v, as for the injectors theyve been put in as we had a little flat spot in the astra the car came out of, near enuf everything has been changed to get rid of it, but its still there hence the injector change, the car doesnt seem to be running rich so im very sure its not gona cook
