I presume you're talking about the Mk4 Turbo? I'd go for the Type R. More fun.

I'd of always said the Astra in the past but the CTR is hard to ignore! Especially at the prices they go for now.
Most people that have driven the GSi think they are a bit boring.
To quote a few people I know that have had CTRs
"great when you are in the mood for thrashing it, not so great when your not"
think I'd still go for the CTR though.

yeah same standard bhp, but the CTR is group 17 while the gsi is 15

that was the one i was confusing it with, the dc5 k20a. astra gsi doesnt have LSD either does it?

depends what you want/like. Astra will go quick without much efford but will be crap round a corner. Civic on the other hand will be ace with corners but you have to 100% thrash it to have fun.

astra and the turbo for me thanks, dont think much of civic type r's tbh, expected my mates to be quicker than it was.

the import ep3 is 212 hp not 220.
imo id go for the astra. with abit of money i belive they would grip quite well in the bends, but they do lack alot of stearing feel
