basically needing my own helmet for track days and such like.
whats the going rate for a cheap as hell one from a bike shop? nothing fancy. just an actual helmet.
theyre running a 1/4 mile weekend at an airfiled near me and rules state you need a helmet. so sadly as the one i borrow normally belongs to a mate who is also running, i kinda need to get my own.
we have a hein gerrick place i think its called in carlisle or are they normally quite costly?

I wouldn't go cheap mate, especially considering the speeds you might be doing. Could cause some nasty damage, and you really should have the best helmet you can afford to protect yourself.

well for crail you dont need a helmet so its not often i will ever have to use it apart from track days. seems a shame to spend a lot of cash on something i will hardly use.
i dont know anyone that i could borrow one off. ive already sent a fair few texts to mates asking. i dont really know motorbike people.

He is in a car as well, not biking, not sure if you knew that or not
Hein Gericke tend to be a bit pricier than most shops, by all means have a look but the cheapest you will find in there will be £75 ish I think, go to a local independent or something and you might get something cheaper.
Also if you buy one that has a random looking gold sticker on the back of it, do not take it off, just incase you ever do want to do a bike trackday with it or want to sell it on

Can get a cheap nitro one for under £50 online. Go to a shop and try on the brands your looking at to get the right size - then go home and buy it online to get it cheaper. Have a look on ebay at nitro and HJC lids. They both have acu approved stamps so you can use them for motorsport which i assume will be the requirement of your track.

That would be ideal TBH, but it will be just for looks no protection at that cost.

Wahey, fat nut.
Seriously though, I was in a go-karting place not that long ago and they had cool as fuck looking helmets for £35. Doubt they would be road legal or anything, but would the people on the day check?

eBay, as you say you won't need anything to expensive as it'l just be there incase you bang your head on the window or steering wheel or something, completely different to banging your head on concrete at 80 mph.
