Spent a day and a half detailing my mates s2000. Wasn't sure exactly what to expect but i was disappointed at the state of the paint, was hoping for an easy one!

Car was dropped off looking not too bad on the surface, wheels have a little corrosion but will be getting replaced soon anyway

The car was then power hosed off.

And BH autofoam covered the car.

And again power hosed off.

Daisy APC was applied to the wheels and the car washed using the 2 bucket method using megs nxt wash.

The arch liners and wheels were cleaned with various brushes.

And the car again power hosed off.

Bonnet, door and boot shuts were then all treated to daisy APC and brushed then gently hosed off.

Then dried with a megs water magnet. Least its clean now!

Under the halogens the state of the paintwork became apparent quickly, serious swirls and deep scratches not visible by eye outside, but definately under intense light.

I gave the bonnet a couple of passes with menzerna intensive polish and it removed most of the swirls, but the deeper scratches still showing.

As the bonnet on s2000's are huge I decided to try some 3M finnesse-it which seems to take alot of the deeper scratches out, so the whole car was given one pass with the finnesse-it to remove the deeper scratches.

The rear bumper has some bad scuffs on the corner which needed sorting.

The are was then wet sanded with 3M 2000 grit paper.

G3 applied to remove the sanding marks.

And 3M finnesse-it to remove to prepare it for paint correction with the rest of the car.

With the car now having most of the deep scratches removed and the rear bumper scuffs fixed, menzerna intensive polish was applied using the rotary using a 3M waffle pad to remove the swirls, wiped off, and menzerna final finish applied to give it that final shine. Poorboys EX-P sealant was used to seal the paint, while P21S wax finished it off. The wheels were polished using AG super resin and sealed with poorboys wheel sealant, while tyres were treated with megs endurance gel.

That's an amazing improvement mate, the swirls were terrible before.

I really need something for swirls as well, it's getting quite bad now

i think originally they just have an opening on the airbox whereas that style of intake goes into the bumper so it gets more fresh cold air he's looking at getting an aem filter now.
