What are the main differences between them? Mainly cosmetic? Do they share the same 1.6 turbo engine?

The Sri is 600 less to insure than a Vxr so curious what the differences are

the power is different, and performance in general according to my uncle, he test drove both and said there was no point going for an sri so he brought the vxr

The VXR has more power..

SRi 0-60 = 8.2 top speed of: 130

VXR 0-60 = 6.8 top speed of 140

They have different engines
VXR = Z16LER
SRi = Z16LEL

SRi is an under-rated car. Its a good little engine even in de-tuned guise, and if I was younger, i'd go for one purley for insurance and tax purposes.

Its just the VXR is a belter of a little car when tuned.

ever thought the driver wasn't good at ''racing''?

sorry to think you're a liar Mr. Diesel, i hope you can back this statement up with a video of a 1.4 mile between you both though

they have the same engine, the SRI engine is just a de-tuned VXR

the only real differences are the bodykit, interior and being de tuned

There is more than one model of SRi. If it was the 1.6t it would have won.

I'd imagine the suspension will be different, and obviously looks, power and interior.

It's not the same engine, hence the different engine code.

I get the feeling with an Sri turbo you'd always be wishing it was the vxr.. May aswell pay that little bit more for a much more satisfying car...

Exactly, there really is no point getting an SRi when you can get low mileage used ones for VERY cheap now.

engine wise, its just a different map, spend some monies and you have essentially got a VXR engine.

but yea the trims are different, as is the suspension, exhaust and wheels.
