Well, the time came for me to move on after my latest corsa started costing me alot of money and it was only just to keep it on the road so thought it was time for me to cut my losses and buy a new car! After a few weeks of searching I have finally ended up with a 2002 '02' Renault Clio ph2 172 Here's a couple of pics,Comments welcome!

You're correct mate, mine was a bargain price 0-60mph time is 7secs for the 172 and I think 6.9secs for the 182's. Both the same top end aswell on the books at 138mph

Yeah when cleaned frequently they really come up good!

I reckon the 172 will be a quicker car on track, the 182 supposedly have more top end torque but the 172s 4-2-1 gives them more lower down power. I dont fancy a full fat, they are a bit heavy.

Not sure,it's gettin a new bonnet fitted just now and a couple other bits and pieces. Will probs go up for £1400 ono

Butler- Think it's the other way round as the 172's only come with a 4 into 1 manifold, the 182's have the 4-2-1 manifolds as standard which makes them alot less restrictive. the full fat ones are much better for me as track days don't interest me,would rather have comfort for the sake of the 0.1 second's difference 0-60mph that seperates them from a lightweight cup. The options there for you to buy appropriately though I suppose

No difference mate at all mate the 182's are just newer thats the only advantage to buying a 182. In real life situations you'd be pushed to notice the difference tbh

Willo nice buy

Fad knows the shit, iv driven loads of cups, 182s etc and theres nothing in it.u cant say ones quicker than another due to the engines all making different power. Tyre choice makes the most difference.

If your after a track car go for a cheap ph1. Not worth payin double for a ph2 cup

Baskey and Fad,both spot on. And correct,ph1 172's can be had for very little money just now for the car you re getting

Cheers Baskey. Yeah got it for £3200. 2002 '02' with 48k miles
