My dad decided to get rid of his honda and harley bikes to get this could be marmite... at first I didn't like it, but it's grown on me...

It's a 1450cc Harley Bobber - tuned / styled by some people (I can't remember now, called Wurz or something)... the colour scheme is supposedly harley davidson orange, white and black.

He's still got his classic BSA Goldstar 500cc too.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Yeah he doesn't like that plate angle, it didn't have any plates on it at all when he bought it, think they used to just trailer it to shows, so fitted one like that. he's gonna knock up a bracket and fit it a bit better.

Yeah she did flip out at him, since he bought it when she was away on holiday without asking her at all...

He's now having to buy her a sofa / kitchen / or something as compensation.

Awesome I'd love to get a proper bike like that, I practically come each time one goes past the office. Which is usually about 3 times a day

Yeh he rides it properly It pisses him off that everyone else who has one keeps it in the garage all shiny and polished, wheels them out to shows etc... He rides it properly, opens it up great fun when I'm on my Aprilia RS, as I've got no torque and that thing is all about the torque. Single 500cc cylinder pounding away.

oh yeh ... I remember one time on the BSA goldstar, he thought the big ends had gone because he could hear a rattle in the crank case... So he rode it home constantly taking it to 7k rpm odd... I questioned why the hell he was ragging it if he thought it was f*cked...

... he explained that at higher revs the loads 'balance out', where as lower revs the strains on the crank are quite high.

In the end it was one of the timing cogs or something had come loose and was rattling about so problem solved.
