Seen a few of these appearing recently, has anybody been in one? What do they compare to in a straight line?

most take a metro gti 1.4 and replace with the 1.8 as its a straightforward conversion. 2.0 isnt due to it being T series and 1.4/8 being K series. They are silly quick as a 1.8 due to low weight. Get a 1.8 VVC and away you go. With the suspension lowered and stiffened (hydrogas) they corner exceptionally well for being on 13s and are excellent handling.

Keep toying with building one as a sleeper

Death traps, far too much power for the chassis and a car that is dangerous in a 30mph crash being capable of 150mph isnt my idea of fun lol.

a local guy had a green one which im sure was a 1.8 16v with a few simple mods he said it would reach 140mph and handled fantasticly. iirc it suprised just about everything and even after he got an rx7 he still said it was a very quick go cart sleeper.

i never saw it on the move but at the time alot of people with quick cars were always talking about 'this green metro'

On one website it says they weigh about 885kg, so with a decent amount of power that would shift
